Connect a custom domain

Use a custom domain when you want customers to visit your own URL instead of a free 24Mason subdomain.

Before you start

You need access to the DNS settings at your domain provider. This might be Squarespace Domains, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, or another registrar.

Typical DNS records

Most 24Mason-hosted sites use records like: Only add records 24Mason asks for. Remove conflicting website defaults from the old host when moving a domain.

What to keep

Do not delete email records unless you are also moving email. Usually safe to keep:

• MX records
• SPF, DKIM, and DMARC TXT records
• Domain verification TXT records

After updating DNS

DNS changes can take time. Some networks update in minutes; others can take hours. Once records propagate, check:

• Apex domain loads correctly
• www redirects to the preferred domain
• HTTPS works
• Old domain or old host no longer serves the wrong site
